Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter soaring near a crowded coastal coastline suddenly began spiraling out of control, finally losing altitude and crashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Recordings posted on the internet capture the aircraft starting to spin near the beach then descending towards the border of the shore, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
