Diving into a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop on a Quest to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have found numerous engaging independent titles. However, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer features a protagonist that is literally a dung trying to make its way to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."
The gameplay is easy to grasp: just use a single jump button. In one hundred fifty levels, battle boss fights and access a store to purchase skins for your poop character.
Time your jumps precisely, as a error means restarting the level. Bounce on bubbles to launch yourself to new heights, traverse disappearing platforms, and interact with triggers to open hidden paths. Earn currency to purchase more difficult levels where the action ramps up.
Visually, the experience boasts eye-catching environments and an amazing background music. The simple graphics of moving basic polygons may remind players of beloved games like Earthbound.
While it's hard to name previous releases where you are a piece of feces, gaming frequently included scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, players craft throwables from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as soil enrichment. Naturally, such content is present extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned significant recognition, including taking top honors at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. The demo is ready at present on Steam, with the full game planned to launch on computers on November 19.
