Charli XCX Portrays a Twisted Persona of Herself in Satirical Film First Look
Charli XCX is preparing for a substantial film onslaught in 2026, starting with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
In the film, she plays what she refers to as a twisted version of herself.
It’s the most authentic portrayal of the entertainment world that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer stated.
She elaborated in an interview: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration came from the demand to make one.
An Early Look into The Project
The debut trailer, launched on this week, mixes actual recordings from her live performances with fictionalized behind-the-scenes moments.
The mockumentary is helmed and co-scripted by her collaborator, who shared that the plot centers on a world where the singer made entirely different choices in the promotion of her smash hit album Brat.

The film is just one of several forthcoming screen roles for the musician, who recently starred in three independent movies in the current year.

She recently signed on to feature in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, she stated. I’m incredibly motivated at the moment in this area, and I solely aim to pursue things that inspire me.

February will also see the launch of the director’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from the singer.
Additionally, she will create the soundtrack for the drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.
The film is scheduled to debut on 30 January.
